Doing My Twitch Affiliate Push!
And the start of a gaming blog?
Twitch streaming is my new obsession. I love playing video games and I was fascinated by the idea of streaming from the moment I found out about it.
But it hasn’t been instant gratification. I’m hoping it will turn into a nice little side gig, though.
How I Started With Twitch
In the summers we spend a lot of time at the lake. We have an RV permanently parked in a seasonal lot and it costs a fair amount of money to keep it there so my partner (who is retired) likes to spend as much time as possible there. I work though, so 3 days a week I am by myself at the house in the city.
One night I was playing a game on Switch, in bed, and I needed some external stimulation. Normally, I’d just put a movie on Netflix or Prime but I couldn’t find anything I wanted to watch. I was on the homescreen and Twitch was an app suggestion. I didn’t even have a Twitch account at the time!
Shortly after that, I did have a Twitch account! It was easy and it didn’t take long for me to find a streamer playing a game I liked — Stray. The streamer was having hard time finding Seamus and I knew exactly where he was. I joined the chat and asked if she wanted to find it herself or if she’d rather I told her.
