I play a lot of video games but cozy games are likely my favorite and I feel like I need to get back to playing them more often. I’ve been playing a lot of Fortnite in January, and I am enjoying it but I feel like I need more cozy time.
There are some great games coming out in the next couple months, so I’m sure I’ll be doing some cozy game streaming on Twitch.
These are the cozy games I am most excited about:
#1 Nevalis
Nevalis is a spin-off game from the cyberpunk themed game called Cloudpunk. The original game took place in the sky city of Nevalis. As a delivery driver, you delivered goods and met people and helped them out. I played the game last year and enjoyed it a great deal.
Since cyberpunk themed games are awesome and because I enjoyed Cloudpunk so much, I knew as soon as I saw it that I was going to have to play Nevalis.
As a new entrepreneur in Nevalis, you are tasked with the mission to grow your noodle kiosk. Then there’s the people to meet and do things with, fishing, going to market, and of course, exploring a vast cyber city.
I get excited every time I watch this video. The music and the intricateness of the city of Nevalis are beautiful and I’m looking forward to some serious cozy gaming time.
Nevalis is due to be released in the spring of 2025 but no specific date has been set yet.
#2 Tales of the Shire
I’ve had this game on my wishlist for a while now. As soon as I saw the preview trailer, I knew I wanted to play this.
I grew up reading The Lord of the Rings and then watching the movies. While I enjoyed all of it, my favorite part of it all was the hobbits. I might have been a hobbit in another life! LOL
So, when I saw that they created a cozy game just about the hobbits, I knew this would be a game for me. Having tea, growing gardens, and decorating a hobbit home? Yes, please!!!
The release date is March 25, 2025 and it will be available on most major gaming platforms
#3 Solarpunk
This is a cozy survival game that takes place in a world of multiple floating islands. You can play alone or you can play with friends so it has a range of different ways to play it.
As you play you’ll need to build, craft, and grow food. You’ll create an energy system for your world with sunlight, wind, and water to make your world grow.
Solarpunk will be released on Steam first but will eventually come out on other platforms, too. The official release date on Steam has not been revealed yet.
#4 Outbound
Have you ever wanted to just runaway from life and go live in a van? This has been my fantasy for years. I’m not likely to actually do it (although you never know) but I like to think about it so I’m looking forward to Outbound.
In this game you live in a van, drive around, craft and decorate, and plant crops as you live your best van life. You can go solo or travel with others (multi-player up to 4 people).
Outbound will be released on Steam and on other consoles later on.
#5 Reanimal
There’s a lot of people who won’t consider this game cozy at all and maybe by the traditional definition, it’s not. But some of us like being terrified. Don’t judge.
Reanimal is made by the same people who brought us Little Nightmares I and II (and III coming soon!) and the preview looks like it will have the same vibes. You play as a brother and sister who are trying to find and rescue their friends on a seriously messed up island.
Reanimal will be available on Playstation 5 soon.
